"It’s so great to play in front of an audience. You get immediate reaction to your message. You can tell if the audience ‘gets it’ — the thoughts and feelings you’re trying to convey to them. And when someone comes up to me after hearing one of my songs and says, ‘I can totally relate to that song,’ or ‘That song really touched my heart;’ well, is it possible to feel any better in one’s life?
There’s no greater compliment to me as an artist than when I hear folks in the audience singing along with me to one of my originals. Humbling. And if you’re fortunate to get applause, that’s something you never grow tired of. It never feels routine when you hear it— it’s a confirmation by your listeners of your hard work and practice. It says, ‘Well done, man.’"
We weren’t able to hold our annual breast cancer event in person this past year. So with all hands on-deck, we rallied to hold the event online. All the music sets were pre-recorded and sent on to daughter Sarah in Florida, who sliced and diced the entire virtual event together! Here’s Jim’s two sets from last September’s BreastFest.
